Prem Rawat Foundation to Help Victims of Hurricane Harvey

The Prem Rawat Foundation (TPRF) has made an initial $20,000 grant to the Houston Food Bank to help victims of Hurricane Harvey, which has devastated Texas in recent days with record-breaking floods that have displaced over 30,000 people so far.

The initial grant of $20,000 will come out of funds in the TPRF budget designated for disaster relief. Your donations to TPRF will be added to that amount. Every dollar donated will provide the equivalent of three meals for an individual.

“Our hearts go out to everyone in the Gulf Coast who was struck by this tragedy and we appreciate the generosity of TPRF’s donors who will allow us to offer assistance to those most in need,” says TPRF Board Chair Linda Pascotto.

The recipient of the initial grant, the Houston Food Bank, is in a strong position to help the people in Texas who need it the most. TPRF has successfully partnered with the nonprofit in previous years to aid people in the Gulf Coast impacted by hurricanes Ike and Katrina. The first grant of $20,000 will provide approximately 60,000 meals.

“We truly appreciate your generosity at this difficult time in the Houston community,” says Houston Food Bank Director of Major Gifts Paula McKenzie.
