Peace Education in South Africa: Katlehong

Crime, depression, and drug abuse are all too common in Katlehong, one of the most distressed townships in South Africa. The poverty is in part a cruel consequence of Apartheid, the system of institutionalized racism that marginalized people here on the outskirts of Johannesburg for far too long.

Despite intense daily challenges in Katlehong, this video highlights how the Peace Education Program is empowering a growing number of young people there to break the cycle of bitterness and build better futures.
