New Partnership Highlights Peace Education Program as a Valuable Resource for Rehabilitation

The Prem Rawat Foundation (TPRF) has formalized its partnership with the Supervision Around the World (SAW) Project, an international nonprofit dedicated to advancing compassionate approaches to criminal justice. The partnership reflects the organizations’ shared belief that TPRF’s Peace Education Program can strengthen rehabilitation by helping people discover their inner resources.

Building on several years of collaboration, the partnership aims to grow awareness of the Peace Education Program as a valuable resource for correctional professionals and their clients.

The SAW Project, founded in 2018, documents and shares unique supervision practices. Through international collaboration and a data-sharing platform, they aim to support criminal justice systems that are humane and focused on building safety in communities. These efforts closely align with the priorities of TPRF work to integrate the Peace Education Program in in global corrections systems.

The Peace Education Program consists of a series of strengths-based and video-based workshops to help people discover their inner resources such as choice, hope and dignity. The program consists of 10 workshop sessions, each focusing on one of the following themes: Peace, Appreciation, Inner Strength, Self-Awareness, Clarity, Understanding, Dignity, Choice, Hope and Contentment.

The program has been implemented in more than 80 countries and 45 languages, with more than 690,000 participants. The program has proven to be effective in corrections settings, with 266,00 incarcerated individuals and criminal justice professionals participating.

Building on their existing relationship, TPRF and the SAW Project entered into a partnership agreement to support continued collaboration.  Peace Education Program Director Willow Baker and SAW Project Founder and CEO Julie Truschel signed the agreement during the 7th World Congress on Probation and Parole held April 2026 in Bali, Indonesia.  More than 4,600 criminal justice professionals from 48 countries attended the conference, themed “Getting Smart on Justice: Healing Hearts & Safer Societies.”

Representatives of the Saw Project and TPRF sign an agreement to support the Peace Education Program.

The partnership will focus on sharing knowledge, expanding collaboration and increasing awareness of each organization’s work.

During the congress, Julie Truschel hosted a session featuring Billa Nanra, who shared how the Peace Education Program supported his rehabilitation after incarceration. Today, he facilitates the program for parolees throughout the United Kingdom.

Billa recently reflected on his experience presenting at the American Probation and Parole Association’s 2025 Training Institute in New York.

At the congress TPRF also hosted a workshop highlighting case studies from Malaysia and Australia that demonstrated how the Peace Education Program supports rehabilitation.

Reflecting on their newly-formalized partnership, Willow Baker shared the following: “The SAW Project is doing wonderful work to drive transformational change in community supervision through international collaborative efforts. The 2-Minute Insights interviews featured on the website sawproject.org have inspired many in the field, including myself. We are grateful that Julie Truschel connected Peace Education Program staff to the American Parole and Probation Association in 2020, aiming to benefit community corrections staff and clients alike. She has consistently mentioned this program to those seeking wellbeing initiatives for their teams or clients in community corrections. Working with the SAW Project has truly been a rewarding experience, and I’m excited that our collaboration will continue.”

Julie Truschel, Founder and CEO of the SAW Project, shared:  “Real transformation begins with people. We’re honored to partner with the Peace Education Program to help bring practical tools that foster hope, resilience, and wellbeing to justice professionals and the people they serve around the world. Having witnessed the impact of the Peace Education Program firsthand, we believe its approach aligns beautifully with our vision of advancing compassionate, human-centered justice. We are excited to collaborate in sharing ideas, stories, and opportunities that inspire healthier individuals, stronger organizations, and safer communities.”
