After hosting the Golden Garden Party for a decade, Ron and Rachel Clearfield (pictured to the right above) are passing the torch to their dear friends this year, Brad and Leah Stickels (pictured to the left). The annual independent fundraising events in the beautiful mountains of Asheville, NC have raised more than $50,000 for The Prem Rawat Foundation (TPRF) to support thousands of impoverished children in India, Nepal, and Ghana.
“After founding and hosting the first decade of Golden Garden Parties (and having a lot of fun doing it), we decided it was time to pass on this wonderful benefit to someone else,” say Ron and Rachel. “Brad and Leah have a beautiful property and Golden Garden Party XI will carry on the tradition of helping children and offering awesome food and beverages, and amazing music.”
With Brad and Leah generously hosting this year’s party and inviting the public onto their gorgeous land near Asheville, this year’s event promises to be another great time in support of the Food for People program.
Happening on June 16 from 3-7pm, the party will include a buffet dinner from Kathmandu Kitchen, a popular local restaurant serving Himalayan cuisine.
The party will also feature performances by several diverse musical acts, including indie rock band Armadilla, singer/songwriter June Bunch, ambient bass artist Cole Douglas Fields, and folk rocker David Wendelin.
Sponsors include Noble Cider, Brusin’ Ales, and Green Man Brewery, with all beverage sales going to TPRF. A long list of supporters are also donating valuable raffle items, from fine art and jewelry to free nights in a Western North Carolina vacation cottage and a reduced flight to Amaroo, Australia.
People anywhere in the world can show their support by buying raffle ticks online, and will be eligible to win the prizes even without attending the party. An anonymous donor has agreed to match all funds raised by the raffle tickets, and another donor has agreed to match total party funds by 5%. So donations will be multiplied whether attending in person or not.
