By the Numbers: TPRF Funds $200,000 Worth of Supplies

All donations to the Nepal earthquake relief effort are going directly to aid victims in need. TPRF has allocated US$200,000 toward emergency supplies to help thousands of villagers deal with the crisis.

Here’s a breakdown of the $159,506 that’s already been spent so far:

$101,282 = Shelter (tarps, blankets, sleeping mats, mosquito nets, metal roofing sheets)

$52,624 = Food (and related items such as stoves, oil, utensils)

$5,600 = Transportation (trucking costs to get supplies to people)

The remainder of the $40,494 is going to be spent on similar items in the immediate future.

As of May 27, that leaves TPRF with just over $21,000 of additional funds to spend on earthquake relief. As the monsoon season begins soon—stretching from early June through September—it’s anticipated that further needs will arise. TPRF will continue to work with its long-term partner on the ground, Premsagar Foundation Nepal, as well as villagers and local leaders to assess the best use of these existing funds and any other money raised for this effort.
