Contribution and fundraising revenues in 2006 of $1.8 million were comprised of donations from over 2,000 people and organizations. 60% of the donors were from the North America, giving 78% of the total amount from contributions and fundraising; 26% of the donors were from Europe, comprising 12%; and the remaining contributors were from Asia and South America.
In 2005, contribution revenues were $2.6 million, which were primarily received to help the victims of the catastrophic natural disasters that were so numerous that year, and which raised the annual contribution revenues significantly. Additionally, that year a very successful fundraising auction provided significant revenues.
In 2006, the Foundation contributed steadily to humanitarian projects and responded to emergency situations. Concurrently, it invested in materials development that were produced in multiple media and languages to further the message of Prem Rawat, and the online store was revamped to support an efficient distribution of these new materials.
The attached chart outlines the primary areas of funding disbursements for all of the Foundation’s activities. The Statement of Position report demonstrates the strength and ability of TPRF to continue funding programs aligned with its purpose.
Notes:
Net Assets include unrestricted and restricted assets. Restricted assets are subject to donor-imposed stipulations that will be met by actions of the
Foundation (i.e. contributions for humanitarian initiatives). At December 31, 2006, the Foundation was not holding any restricted net assets.
Functional Expenses: The Foundation performs and reports its activities among three functions: Program Expenses, Support Expenses, and
Fundraising Expenses. Definitions of these functions are as follows:
Program: Activities performed by the Foundation which promote and disseminate the speeches, writings, music, and art of Prem Rawat and support public forums and humanitarian initiatives.
Support: All costs not identifiable with a single program or fundraising activity but indispensable to the conduct of such programs and activities and to the Foundation’s existence. This includes business management, general recordkeeping, financial reporting, legal services, and activities related to these functions, such as supplies, equipment, and other general overhead.
Fundraising: Activities performed by the Foundation to generate funds and/or resources to support its programs.
