This link “Peace Day and The Message of Prem Rawat“ shows where independent initiatives, events and activities will be happening throughout the world on the International Day of Peace – September 21st or the weekend following. All of these events are inspired by a dedication to peace and are initiated, sponsored, and supported locally.
If you wish to have your event added to this map, email: sept21info@tprf.org, even if it’s after this date. We would still like to give everyone who celebrated Prem Rawat’s unique message of peace their own “bubble” to highlight their efforts. The map will be up and running for a while after September 21st.
After our August blog post there were only a couple of drops of interest. But slowly, the interest swelled to a global river of event submissions and inquiries from people looking to find activities in their own cities to attend.
Some undertakings are specific events like the Peace Education Program presentation’s at City Hall in Lansing, MI and another in Berlin. In other cases, coalition activities at Peace Day festivals and concerts will see materials about The Prem Rawat Foundation’s signature programs shared from Mauritius to Berlin, in Nepal and India, and in the French Andes at a village called Montégut-Arros.
In addition to face-to-face events, two of the activities listed on the map are broadcasts. One will originate in Ireland and go out via radio to at least twenty-two stations across the country. Visit their Facebook page to learn more.
Christine Lynn, one of the organizers, told us, “We put together a one hour radio program to promote and support International Peace Day. We will include poems, songs, news of events supporting Peace Day in Ireland and world-wide, sayings and stories, all related to International Peace Day.”
In Florida, an ambitious idea that sprouted months ago resulted in the Necessity of Peace Global Webcast to honor the International Day of Peace. The Florida Peace Initiative website is where to go for details about this two day event. David Weinberg, part of this team, sent us their mission statement, which reads in part:
“The intent of the webcast is to showcase peace as a fundamental need shared by people around the world, and to highlight the resources we have within ourselves to make peace possible.”
There is even a youtube channel which states, “The Necessity of Peace Conference invites individuals from every walk of life and field of endeavor to propose dynamic, enthusiastic presentations about The Necessity of Peace.”
This interactive map seems somehow symbolic; once again reminding us all what a tiny “island” each of us sits on as we spin along through space together, sharing the potential to make the voice of peace the loudest one of all.
Happy Peace Day!

International Day of Peace initiatives 2012 in France, Europe
This year, a group of persons, supported by G.P.I., really wanted to take the opportunity of the International Day of Peace, to present Prem Rawat’s message.
We began in December 2011 with one person – Isabelle – who have an experience in this domain.
So, we first have gathered a small group of persons more or less already locally involved in that kind of initiative and built a team;
One of the main idea of team was to work with partners – Either by inviting them or by joining already existing initiatives – In the respect and the mutual consideration – “You are concerned by the peace, us too – then, peace, let us talk about it” – And that is the opportunity for us to present our perspective of what peace is about : Simply Prem Rawat’s message – lots of fun!
We widely communicated on the project and soon new persons and new cities joined the team. Finally, we arrived at a team of about eighteen.
So we had in September 10 initiatives – events, concerts, exhibitions, forums … in different cities of France. About 100 volunteers were involved with about 50 partners.
We had at least 1500 participants and about 400/500 people got in touch for the first time with Prem Rawat’s message.
Great enthusiasm, great pleasure and great enthusiasm to make better during this year and for the next International Day of Peace. Very good contacts with other partners. We do hope to have more initiatives in more cities for the next year.
A sample :
Inspired by the International Day of Peace declared by the United Nations and by the event Peace and Wellbeing that happened last year in the European Parliament, a group of people organised this year, the 22 of September, a Festival of Peace, Wellbeing and Solidarity in a little village in the South of France.
They started by finding an idyllic place near a little river, not far from the mountains and received permission from the owners to use it for free. This place provided all the accommodations needed for welcoming and taking care of hundreds of people, including a big and transparent tent and possibility to make food as well.
They found very quickly local and national associations (including 2 humanitarians organisations) to join them and started to communicate widely with the help of a dedicated website and hundreds of flyers and posters.
Very soon a lot of artists, painters, musicians, clowns etc. decided to join including a very well know classical pianist that proposed to come with his instrument.
It looks incredible but everything was put together without any budget, only based on the generosity of the participants.
The day of the event at least 250 adults show up to enjoy themselves all along a wonderful sunny day. The mayors and the teachers of the closest villages have helped to put together the Festival and at least 50 volunteers were there to set up the scene, usher people around, have a look on the children, and prepare and sell organic food and drinks.
A dozen different artists played wonderfully until late at night and TPRF was present with a video and a stand. After the event in Brussels was shown, and people were invited to sign the Pledge for Peace.
Even if it was not the main purpose, 800 euros came out from the donations and the sale of food and are shared between the 2 humanitarians organisations (TPRF and A.A.A.)

Juanita, thanks for your information. You are on the map now! Please send info to sept21info@tprf.org if you too had an event and it will be added to the map.
I really thank the Prem Rewat Foundation team for the big work they are doing in the world. May God bless them so much.

Dear TPRF,
Just wanted to let you know that in Santa Barbara we have been celebrating International Day of Peace for over 6 years. Three years ago we decided to make it an annual event.
Our third annual event was held at our largest public library and gallery in Santa Barbara. Being displayed were wonderful sculptors from SB residents. Our mayor, Helen Schneider, read the Peace Proclamation and gave a brief but inspiring speech.
We also showed the video, Peace Once Day.
A young girl, Neveah Harrington, gave a brilliant and inspiring speech. She also gave us homework–do 3 kind things each day. She understands the human spirit and has a big heart. She is 10 years old.
Yoram Weis spoke last. His talk touched everyone. He drew the crowd in and they listened. It was so heartwarming.
Thanks for letting us know what is happening.
Juanita Chatham
