To Russia with Prem Rawat

Words of Peace (in Russian) - announcing Moscow event on June 29, 2012

Linda Pascotto, President of TPRF, has written this blog post about her recent trip to Moscow to attend an event with Prem Rawat on Friday, June 29. Look for the news article on the home page, coming soon.

For the last 41 years I’ve traveled a lot—way more than the few weeks each year that I took traveling with my family while I was growing up. But one of the places I never had a chance to visit was Russia. Years ago a teenage exchange student from Russia (USSR at the time) lived with us for a semester. That’s about as close as I ever got to actually visiting the country.

Recently I had an offer to travel to Russia that was just too good to be true—Prem Rawat was going to speak at Synergy University in Moscow, and I was invited to attend the event!

I was surprised by the city—it was HUGE with absolutely stunning architecture (many Orthodox churches adorned with golden domes), super clean streets and LOTS of traffic! Just like most cosmopolitan cities at rush hour, except all hours are rush hour in Moscow! But there was also something very special—the city is alive, vibrant, and the people are warm and friendly. Even if we couldn’t communicate verbally (Russian sounds very different to my Western European ear), somehow we succeeded in connecting, and it just worked!

I did manage a couple of hours of sightseeing, but the real purpose of my visit was to attend the event. What a wonderful sight it was to see the fresh, young faces of eager university students, totally excited to come to hear a world-renowned speaker on peace. Even the distinguished guests and the faculty were filled with enthusiasm and warmly welcomed us. Not too many years ago, this would have seemed impossible.

Although there’s so much more to tell, I’ll let the real writers give you the scoop about the event and the wonderful, thoughtful questions from the students—it just brought me back to a time long ago when I was searching for something more meaningful in my life, and Prem Rawat provided the answers to my questions. It’s been a joyful journey ever since, and my time in Russia made me realize once again that everyone wants peace!

Thank you for this great news. Prem Rawat visiting my country! When I knew it; I cried. I´m so happy and can´t believe it!

  2. It is wonderful that there is enough world peace now that Prem Rawat could visit a place that used to be considered an enemy of the United States. Is anyone working on Prem Rawat visting China? China has declared Jet Li to be a national treasure of China and he is a Buddhist. China has 1.3 billion people there that need inner peace.

    Dear Prem Rawat!

I am so excited to be with you this time. I found out about the event just a few hours beforehand and asked one of my colleagues to register me. This is a miracle that happened! Now you visited Moscow and you can see a lot of Russians who need to hear your message! Please come again.

    Love from Russia,

    Dmitry

    Dear Linda ,
How fortunate you were to be a part of this ! I visited the Soviet Union as it was then called in 1967 when a 19 year old Australian university student. We had such fun, in what was then a very dour and seemingly remote place – but who would ever have thought that Prem Rawat would visit there one day?
And that the response to his message has been so warm is not surprising. I feel a special connection with Russia, so your blog has been such good news.

As Ronnie and I are both children of “the cold war” it melts my heart to hear this news. I rejoice that I am alive at this time to witness Prem Rawat’s relentless pursuit of bringing peace to each heart on this planet. We can share this news with every person we know! Today! (from Gwen)

Sounds like a glorious journey, Linda. Inspiring to see Prem Rawat keep expanding his work in a lifetime that knows no boundaries. And yes, remembering the thirst is always uplifting to our hearts.

What an historic visit! I am so excited to read this news. I have two kids adopted from Russia. While on an adoption trip to Moscow several years ago, I surprisingly had the opportunity to invite and accompany my driver/interpreter, whom I consider a friend, to a very small program where a video of Prem Rawat was shown. I can now tell my friend that Prem Rawat has been to Moscow. I hope that this special teacher can schedule another event there so I can invite my friend (this time by email). There’s nothing like seeing Prem Rawat in person.

There are no boundaries to this beautiful message of Peace, and it seems no limits to Prem Rawat’s effort to make it available for anyone and every one accepting invitations to speak to people all around the Earth . Also it is wonderful to see how it unfolds . And to be apart and to say Thank you for making it possible to him and all the people who help . It is beautiful how hearts are touched .

In 1973 I went on a 6 week study tour in Russia and did my best to let people know about Prem Rawat and his message of peace. My knowledge of Russian was rudimentary at best and the materials available at the time were pretty meager. Still, I was struck by the incredible openness of the Russian people to the message. They were indeed a people seeking peace.

I spoke with many people while I was in Russia. I never forgot the openness and beauty of those people and I hope a couple of them had the chance to see Mr. Rawat so many years later.

Delighted that the country is now open enough to allow for a visit of this sort.

Amazing, Prem Rawat in Russia. “To Russia with Love – Prem”. I’m so happy it finally happened.

  17. avatar Tim Williams says:

That’s great to see Prem Rawat in Russia. When traveling around Asia visiting “spiritual hot spots,” one notices the preponderance of Russians so much so that in some cases [it seems] events are staged especially for them. It is as if there is some kind of awakening happening and their thirst is being ignited. May this be one of many visits that Prem Rawat makes.

  18. avatar Giuseppe M. Buffa says:

Wow! It is really a changing world! It is marvelous to hear what Ms. Linda is telling about this extraordinary event. I hope that one day every country could benefit of the inspiring, balanced, peaceful, joyful and intelligent words of Prem Rawat.

  19. Huge tears of joy. The world just got a lot smaller! Thanks, Prem Rawat!
